Powerlifting
Instructor: Coach Brett Robinson
CHS has both boys and girls powerlifting teams.  Competition usually begins in late January and concludes the first weekend of April with the State Championship at the Jackson Colliseum.  Athletes are placed in weight classes based on their body weight to increase competition among lifters.  Scores are based on the athletes highest lift of three attempts in squat, bench, and deadlift.  The top three lifters in a weight class are awarded medals and once regional starts, the top three finishers are allowed to compete at the next meet (Regional - South State - State).
